Analytics Fields
The main Product Owners along with the members having Admin Roles access granted.
An analytics field gives a tag a proper name and description so that it reads clearly in reports, instead of appearing as the raw name it was sent as. Admin users manage the fields that donation reporting is grouped by. Fields are optional; tags are stored whether or not a field describes them.
To add a field, click on Admin in the header menu, Analytics and then Fields from the side menu. On the Manage Fields screen, click the + Add Field option and:
- Input the name of the field as it should appear in reports.
- Add a description explaining what the field is for.
- Add the keys the field collects. A field can hold more than one key, so the same information arriving under different names still reports as a single field.
- Add any synonyms, where two values mean the same thing and should be reported as one.
All fields added appear in the form of a list along with their name, description, keys and status. Each field can be edited, activated or deactivated via the down arrow. Deactivating a field stops it being offered without affecting the donations already reported against it.
Rather than adding fields one at a time, choose Recommended Fields to apply a template. Engage sets up the fields for a particular way of giving, already named and described, and you can edit them afterwards as normal.
