Adding Labels

Who can use this feature?

The main Product Owners along with the members having Admin Roles access granted.

A label gives a tag a proper name and description so that it reads clearly on a record, instead of appearing as the raw name it was sent as. Admin users manage the labels that your team can apply to accounts, donations, sponsorships and other records. Labels are optional; tags are stored whether or not a label describes them.

Each label belongs to one type of record, so the labels offered on an account are separate from those offered on a donation.

To add a label, click on Admin in the header menu, Data and then Labels from the side menu. On the Manage Labels screen, click the + Add Label option and:

  1. Choose the type of record the label applies to.
  2. Input the name of the label as it should appear on the record.
  3. Add a description explaining what the label is for.
  4. Add the keys the label collects. A label can hold more than one key, so the same information arriving under different names still appears as a single label.
  5. Add any synonyms, where two values mean the same thing and should be shown as one.

All labels added appear in the form of a list along with their name, description, keys and status. Each label can be edited, activated or deactivated via the down arrow. Deactivating a label stops it being offered without affecting the records already using it.

Once added, labels appear on the record itself and can be used to filter and group records in lists.
