Claude

Who can use this feature?

Anyone on your team with a Claude account, working with your N3O contact.

Claude reaches N3O Cloud through a custom connector. You give Claude your subscription's address, Claude works out for itself what the server offers, and each person signs in with their own N3O Cloud account. What the server is and what it can do is on the MCP Server page.

Before you start

Ask your N3O contact to turn the server on for your subscription, to confirm that Claude is supported, and to give you your subscription's address. The address is the only thing you need from N3O.

Who adds it

Where Claude is managed for your organisation, an owner adds the connector once and everyone else connects to it with their own N3O Cloud account. Otherwise each person adds it for themselves. Which of those applies to you, and whether your plan allows a custom connector at all, is Anthropic's to set and it changes, so read their Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP before you start.

Adding the connector for your organisation

An owner does this once.

  1. Open Organization settings, then Connectors.
  2. Select Add, then Custom. If Claude asks for the connector type, choose Web.
  3. Enter N3O as the name, and your subscription's address as the MCP server URL.
  4. If Claude asks how people should sign in, choose to sign in now, so that each person authenticates before using the connector.
  5. If Claude asks for an OAuth Client ID or a client secret, leave both blank unless your N3O contact has given them to you.
  6. Select Add.

Everyone else then opens Customize, then Connectors, finds the connector labelled Custom, selects Connect, and signs in with their own N3O Cloud account.

Adding the connector for yourself

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Select Add custom connector.
  3. Enter N3O as the name, and your subscription's address as the MCP server URL.
  4. Leave any OAuth Client ID and client secret blank unless your N3O contact has given them to you.
  5. Select Add, then sign in with your own N3O Cloud account.

Authentication settings cannot be changed once a connector has been added. To change them, remove the connector and add it again, and everyone reconnects.

Using it in a conversation

Each conversation has its own set of connectors. Select the + button in the chat, then Connectors, and check that the N3O connector is on for that conversation. Then ask in plain language.

Claude asks you to approve a tool before it runs it. Read what it is about to do before you approve, and keep Always allow for the tools you are content for Claude to run unwatched.

Choosing which tools Claude may use

You can stop Claude using a tool at all. Open Customize, then Connectors, select the N3O connector, and set that tool's permission to Blocked. If you want Claude to read your data and never change it, block the tools that change a record.
