Editing crowdfunding
Anyone with access to edit your website's content in Umbraco.
Crowdfunding for a campaign is set up under Platforms → Crowdfunding in your website's editor. Publishing it is what turns crowdfunding on for the campaign, so before you start, check the campaign meets the two conditions in Turning on crowdfunding.
What you create there links to the campaign it raises money for and holds two pages. Its tabs are typically General, Page and New Crowdfunder Defaults — the three pages explained in The three pages.
To set up crowdfunding for a campaign:
- Under Platforms → Crowdfunding, add crowdfunding for the campaign (or open the one already there).
- On the General tab, use Link to to choose the campaign this crowdfunding page raises money for.
- On the Page tab, build the crowdfunding campaign page — the one at
/fundraising/<campaign>, with its thermometer and Start Crowdfunder button. Set its hero image and content as you would a campaign page. - On the New Crowdfunder Defaults tab, set the starting content each new crowdfunder begins from. Write it in the supporter's voice if you want their pages to open personally rather than in the charity's.
- Click Save and publish. Crowdfunding is now on: the campaign appears under
/fundraising, and supporters can create their own pages.
The New Crowdfunder Defaults are copied onto each crowdfunder once, when it is created; changing them later does not rewrite pages already made. That rule, and when to give each page different words, are in The three pages.
Finding the live links
Once it is published, the Info tab lists the live web addresses for the page, which is handy for
sharing the /fundraising link with supporters.
The tab and field names above ("Link to", "New Crowdfunder Defaults") are typical of an N3O-built site; yours may differ slightly.
